The Program Structure
The yoga lessons begin with two warm up activities focusing on the connection between the mind and body allowing students to prepare for the movement sequences to follow. A strong focus on the connection of the right and left brain will arouse and motivate students for an active workout. Warm up activities provide students with the opportunity to practice and develop yoga postures in a fun environment with easy to follow games. Students are encouraged to move throughout the space using a variety of locomotive actions increasing fitness while incorporating yoga postures.
The yoga postures are then shaped into an imaginative story allowing the class to flow through sequences focusing on technique, mindfulness and breath. Yoga sequences are practised to music empowering students to travel their journey with minimal instructions.
The session concludes with relaxation and mindfulness where students focus on their breath, setting them up for the remainder of the day.
Lessons are designed for 45 minutes however are easily modified to be delivered for a variable duration.
